Summary

GLENMED has been a major distributor for Philips Medical Systems (Previously HP/Agilent) in Kwazulu-Natal for more than 10 years. GLENMED is a distributor of CMS (Computer Monitoring Systems) and Ultrasound Systems for Philips and support the products with accredited Service Engineers and Sales staff. GLENMED work very closely with Philips and are supported by Philips in all areas. Besides Philips products, other medical equipment products from various suppliers around the world, are supported and represented by GLENMED on a National basis.

Company Ownership

GLENMED is a privately owned company that was established by Mr. GW Strike. Mr. Strike is the 100% sole owner but he does encourage management staff to participate in management decisions that will affect the wellbeing and growth of the business.

Company History

Mr. Strike, previously an electronic/biomedical engineer with Siemens Medical was afforded the opportunity to be account manager as an individual company for the Hewlett Packard Medical group in Kwazulu-Natal after they left the country due to economical reasons. Since then GLENMED has endured various acquisitions within the greater organisation and finally representing Philips Medical Systems after they acquired Hewlett Packard Medical. Through all this GLENMED has never lost focus of their goals and this has lead to their enduring success.

Company Locations and Facilities

GLENMED owns a large converted house close to a suburban shopping area in Durban, located conveniently close to all major Hospitals. It includes a Training area, Service Department, Offices, and Showroom area. We share our premises with two other companies including Cardinal Health.
